The paper presents the results of tests of sound levels in the passenger space of the EN57 series electric multiple unit (EMU) during standstill, starting-up, running and braking. The tests were carried out on the basis of the author’s test methodology based on the PN-EN ISO 3381 standard: Railway applications. Acoustics. Measurement of noise inside rail vehicles. The tests were carried out on the railway line No. 250 from the Gdańsk Śródmieście stop to the Rumia station. The aim of the tests was to assess the acoustic climate in the passenger space of the EN57 series electric multiple unit of the Tricity fast urban railway of S2 line Gdańsk Śródmieście - Rumia. The results of the carried out analysis showed places potentially threatened with higher noise levels than others and the impact of these sound levels on passengers using public transport such as the EN57series EMU in the Tricity.
